Playfair Park
Location: off Quadra Street between Rock, Kathleen, Judge and Cumberland Roads. The site within the park is Garry oak savanna on the north-facing slope.
Site Objectives: Restore to a Garry oak savanna, maintaining a high diversity of appropriate wildflower species. |
Description:
A dense meadow of primarily introduced grasses (e.g. orchard grass), camas and Garry oaks. The site is currently mowed only annually, in order to allow the wildflowers to set seed.
